a) Cars are cut down and IF two cars can be loaded, one on top of the other, thus using 2 trailers, we can cut the cars down even further making true "flat cars". If you use 3 trailers, we will probably just keep them the same height. We are referring to the cars in the CENTER of the photo that have the roofs removed.
b) If 2 or 3 trucks are used, they must be there for loading on the same day. We will have a crane loading the cars.
c) A standard flat trailer can probably be used, given that these cars are cut down.
d) We are planning on strapping the trucks to the cars and loading/unloading in one crane action.
e) We are a small, poor museum. If you see anyway to cut costs, we are all for it. Timing is pickup sensitive, but NOT delivery sensitive.
f) WE will arrange crane service at loading and unloading. Don't really need assistance unless you want to quote it.

This car is mostly wooden construction, with steel beams running underneath.
The car is 55 feet long, but has been cut in half. So you will be moving TWO sections of 27.5 feet length each. So you will need either two trucks, or to make two trips.
The 20,000 lbs weight is an estimate. The car weighed 107,000 lbs when built, but the trucks (wheels and undercarriage), as well as the four heavy electric motors, and the interior have been removed. So the car probably weighs less than half it's original weight. It is mostly wood. Also, the car will be moved in TWO sections to make it lighter.
The car is in fragile condition, but it has been cross-braced inside and will be wrapped with 12 mil shrink-wrap to make it stable for the move.
The fence seen in the photos will be removed.
I would LOVE to find a trucker who can handle the loading, but if you cannot just tell me when you bid.
A crane CANNOT be used to lift due to the powerlines overhead. It will have to be lifted with an industrial forklift or semi wrecker. Mats will have to be placed on the grass to prevent sinking.
We will HAVE to coordinate on the moving date, because I have to coordinate with the other parties involved

Locomotive would have to be winched on and off the rear of a trailer. It is going from one display rail to another. I don’t think a traditional LowBoy trailer, that disconnects at the front would work.

We would like to hire someone capable of completing the entire move, including loading and unloading the unit.
UPDATE: We had this listed previously with the tracks needing transported also, but this is no longer the case. This is for the car only, the tracks DO NOT need transported.
