I have a partially-built kayak that needs to be transported from New Hampshire to New Jersey. Anyone with a kayak rack on top of their car should have no trouble! It consists of the hull, which weighs less than 40 pounds, probably more like 30. And some additional building materials including some 7 and 8 foot lengths of plywood-- weighing next to nothing. There are also two long narrow 14 foot strips which can be taped inside the hull during transport. All of this can be bound up into the hull if that turns out to be the easiest way to transport it.
